My E- Reader Experience…

A common question that arises in every reader’s mind is ‘should I buy a kindle? I had been feeling the same way for some time, and I finally bought one this January. And I can assure you I have not regretted it, despite having been one of the people who made fun of e book readers.

I got a Kindle purely because I wanted to protect my books from the moisture and dust of the atmosphere. [or maybe because it’s really cute :)]

If you are seriously considering a Kindle; here are some things to keep in mind…

Tapping- To change the page, you have to tap on the side of the screen. This takes some getting used to. Once your comfortable though, you won’t feel a thing.

B&W- There is no colour in the kindle. So be aware that no matter how pretty the colours of a book, you can’t see it. Comics, picture-based books etc. will be black and white too.

Cost: While the books are cheap, the device can cost a bit, along with quality cases. It’s an investment, but make sure you are ready for it.

Multiple models: There are many models in the kindle itself. Make sure you know everything about the one you are buying.

Some reasons to absolutely make you want a kindle…

Portability: Oh my God! It fits in all my bags, from my biggest duffel to my smallest side sling. It’s great for travel or if you use public transportation regularly. No more folding pages and cracking spines. It is lightweight, so no more restriction on how many books you can carry.

Instant delivery: No more waiting for your book to arrive, you pay and you have it!

Battery life: One charge can last up to 2 months. How you use it can also be a contributing factor. Though it will last for at least a month.

No damage- Your book can’t come with blobby text or folded pages anymore. You always have a clean and crisp book. Even if you want to highlight or annotate, the damage is zero.

Subscribe-able: You can buy kindle unlimited of you don’t want to buy too many books and spend money.

Over all, my experience in the past 5 months of use has been amazing. I love my paperwhite and would recommend it to anyone interested. The only tip I have for readers is make sure you know you want an e reader for something other than aesthetics.

Hoping you get a kindle,

Janx:)
