Today we took a photo,
It was a family pic,
Me, mother and father,
Later I sit and stare at my pretty face,
But the shadow of my father’s face,
On my own,
Feels so comfortable,
Because my smile doesn’t even bother,
To try and imitate my father,
It is what I have earned,
From friends and the world,
Unlike my eyes,
A bare imitation of my mother’s,
Or my hair,
The faux of what my father has,
My smile shows more than my teeth,
It shows all my friends,
The crimps that show in their eyes,
When they smile,
It represents anything,
And everything,
I know of this world,
Because in the wrinkles at my eyes,
There are things hidden,
Like everything,
I have earned and,
Everything I have learned…
