Madam Rides the Bus: Analysis

Madam rides the bus is a story of a little 8-year-old from a small village who longs to ride the bus to town.
                        Character Sketch
I believe Valli was quite a daring and different girl. To support this claim, we have the incident where she saves her money to go on the bus; in the process, she is tempted by many things and still stays determined. Such determination at a young age is almost wild and extremely appreciable. She is also quite alert and wise; she has not once shared private information or gone anywhere the conductor asked her to when they reached. She is also a bit childish, as any other 8-year-old; considering she goes on a bus without informing anyone. Over all Valli is an extremely sweet and mature girl, who hasn’t yet grown out of being a child.
Story analysis:
How people react to others and their situations is quite based of their own background. Like the conductor didn’t bother to think or ask why the little girl was alone and treated her like any other VIP passenger. Probably because he was so used to all kinds of people riding every day, he no longer bothered to think. The old man next to her probably had someone and felt concerned for the child in his own gruff ways; protecting her from falling and being injured. Something he only did as a compulsion of being an adult. And lastly the old lady; who probably has her own family, shows genuine concern.
