I walk out on a Saturday morning,
So convinced of my goodness,
My feet thump in rhythm to others on the cool road,
And I cross to the other side,
Careful to run a bit,
As I can’t be run over
Not today,
Not when I’m so happy with myself,
But I do almost get hit,
By some auto driver,
Who decides to change his lane,
I brush the thought of a lot many things off,
And put in the order at the stall,
I wait for the food to be ready,
And for time to pass,
Soon enough,
I ponder,
What is so good,
About a cool breeze on a Saturday morning,
When I’m in plaid pants,
And so happy with myself.
I wonder why that is,
Why I feel satisfied,
When there is so much, I haven’t done,
And so little that I have,
Maybe it’s the sight of a button-like car,
Or an empty school bus,
Maybe it’s the fact that I’m waiting for something,
Fully aware,
That others are too,
Maybe that’s why Saturday mornings can feel so good,
Because I know I’m not the only one who is waiting,
Or has a lot left to do…
By,
Janx 🙂
